Srinagar, Dec 13: All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association (AJKPA) on Tuesday asked the government to fulfil their demands within a week’s time.
Abdul Majeed Malla, president of the association, said that the records being digitized at present doesn’t carry correct names of the people, which has left the common masses aghast. “As the Patwaris are not tech-savvy, the government should play its role to organize training programmes for them to ease their hardships, which they face in the ingoing digitization process,” he said.
He also said that the people have raised concern over the incorrect names being updated online.
“Digitization is an appreciable and welcome step, but at the same time, the Patwaris should be trained well to ensure that the process is completed without any flaw,” Malla said, adding that the government should also come clear why the previously hired private form failed to ensure the digitization of the records from the past four years.
“It is unfortunate that the infrastructure available at training centres in Kashmir and Jammu is gathering dust,” he said and added that the government should fulfil all the demands of Patwaris including those related to the digitization process within a week’s time.
