Srinagar, Dec 13: The initiative of Arouba Kabir, Mental & Emotional Health Therapist who is basically from Pahalgam area of Anantnag and now settled in Gurgaon, has bagged an international business award 2022-2023.
‘Enso Wellness’ is a Platform for Mental and Emotional Health that has been an initiative started by Arouba in 2015. Arouba Kabir, Founder, Enso Wellness, said that that mental and emotional health needs and deserves more and more recognition in today’s era to remove the stigma attached to it.
“I choose mental health as I also had some mental issues while growing up and had suicide and other self-harming tendencies when I wasn’t able to share my feelings rather I would try to cut myself,” she said. “In college, I preferred Psychology as my subject and teacher helped me to come out all such things. After pursuing masters in Psychology, I got training of other things like hypnotherapy, cognitive behavior therapy and other things.”
She said: “In 2015, I started Enso Wellness in Gurgaon with an aim to spread more awareness and become a one-stop solution for those who have been struggling with the issues and challenges of emotional and mental health.”
Pandemic changed the definition and made it globally possible for people to ask Help by using online platform keeping their identity anonymous as reaching out to a mental health professional is still a stigma, she said.
“I have been awarded many times before and this award is for working online in Covid-19 for having best counsellors,” she said.
“We have been hosting many online series- like Stand up to Stigma, One minute Mental Health, Ask the Doctor with eminent personalities from across the globe and conducted various online and offline workshops for Kashmir in last 5 years,” she added. “Mental health is as important as physical health-one definitely impacts the other. We need to start talking about mental health as we do talk about physical health and make it normal for people to reach out for help when they need it. And if you want to see the change we have to be the change, so talking about your emotions, challenges, struggles and visiting a professional definitely does help make it normal”
She said one doesn’t need to suppress the emotions as every emotion is must about whom “we have the talk but we need to learn how to navigate these emotions better.”
“We don’t buy emotions, it is inborn in us and rather than suppressing and not talking about it. we need to come out and share feelings, reach professional to get out anxiety as mental health is as important as physical health and we have to remove stigma about it so as to see the change and be the change,” she added.
