Avalanches: Curb public movement

Don’t make poor homeless

In the busiest place—City, a hospital, which has nearly a dozen rooms, is catering the rush of nearly half of the population in Srinagar city and has provided a sigh of relief among the masses. However, shifting it to the other location, has angered the common masses, who want the administration to reconsider its decision as relocating it would certainly bring misery to the whole City dwellers. Gousia hospital, located in Khanyar area of Srinagar City, witnesses a huge rush of patients every day as most of the city dwellers are dependent on it and want it to continue functioning from the present building. It is a fact that the hospital lacks adequate space, but a public park just outside of the hospital can be used for extending the space of the hospital. Instead of shifting the hospital, the concerned authorities should consider extending the space of the building at the same place, rather than shifting to another place, keeping in view the possible hardships of the people. It is the time when the government should consider increasing the number of health facilities rather than locating the already existing hospitals, which can lead to the sufferings of the people. Therefore, on the public demand, the government should reconsider its decision and take every possible step to ensure that the hospital is not relocated so that the local populace could heave a sigh of relief.
