Pulwama IED recovery case: Police file chargesheet against 8 accused

Pulwama, Dec 13: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against 8 accused persons in a case related to IED recovery in Armulla Lassipora area of Pulwama district.
According to a statement, Pulwama Police produced chargesheet in case FIR No. 65/2022 U/S 4/5 Explosive Substance Act, 18,20,23,39 UA(P) Act of Police Station Litter against 8 accused persons before the court of Special Designated Court under NIA Act at Srinagar.
The instant case is related to recovery of an IED at Armulla Lassipora on June 16 this year.
“On June 16, Police Pulwama received information that an IED have been planted within the area of PS Litter with the aim to inflict causalities on Police/security forces. Consequent upon this information, Pulwama Police swung into action and raided the said location and recovered an IED weighing about 15 kgs which was fitted in pressure cooker and also apprehended 02 accused persons,” it reads.
It reads during the course of investigation, the arrested persons confessed to their crime and also disclosed the names of 05 more persons associated with Al-badr outfit for their active involvement and role in procuring and transporting of the IED.
It reads on the basis of evidence gathered offence punishable under relevant sections of law for commission of instant crime were established.
“The investigation of the case concluded as chargesheet against 08 accused persons including one foreign militant handler whose challan has been produced before the competent court of law,” it reads.
