Kulgam, Dec 16: The Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Kashmir, Imam Din Friday visited Kulgam.
During the visit, the Director inaugurated a playground at Halqa Akhran Devsar developed with an expenditure of Rs 12 lacs by the Rural Development Department. He also distributed sports kits to the cricket team of the panchayat Akhran.
The Director laid the foundation of the BDC office and interacted with the PRIs of block Devsar at Devsar.
He also kick-started the door to door collection of solid waste in various panchayat halqas of block Devsar.
Imam Din visited the flood protection project Zangalpora and also took stock of various works viz. playfields, Amrit Sarovars, public park and SWM segregation unit at halqa Checkpora.
Later, the Director alongwith Chairperson DDC Kulgam Mohd afzal Parray laid foundation of Block Office Pombay which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 26 lacs.
The Director and DCC chairperson also interacted with the PRIs and Job card holders of the area.
He also chaired a meeting of Officers at Resthouse Chawalgam and reviewed the functioning of the department of Rural Development and implementation status of various schemes in the district by Rural Development Department.
ACD Kulgam Mohammad Imran Khan apprised the Director RDD about the progress made by the district under various schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY-G, B2V3, RGSA, UT Capex, Distt Capex, SBM and 14th FC.
The Director expressed his satisfaction regarding the progress made by the district and directed the officers of RDD to work hard in the larger interest of the public.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ACP, Ex. Engineer REW, BDOs, AEEs/AEs, SOs, AAOs and POs and other officers.
