Police arrest four gamblers in Bandipora

Srinagar, Dec 17: Acting tough against social crimes, Police in Bandipora have arrested 4 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on a specific information about the presence of gamblers in Vijpara area of Hajin, a police party led by SHO Police Station Hajin raided the specific site and arrested 04 gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Shah son of Ab Aziz Shah, Feroz Ahmad Goroo son of Mohd Hayat Goroo, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi son of Gh Rasool Reshi and Manzoor Ahmad Shah son of Gh Mohd Shah, all residents of Khomina Baharabad Hajin.
Officers have seized stake money of Rs. 6,890/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 87/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Hajin and investigation has been taken up.
