Police solve robbery case within 24 hours in Budgam, 3 arrested

Srinagar, Dec 19: Police in Budgam Monday claimed to have solved a robbery case by arresting three persons involved in the commission of crime within 24 hours. Besides, they recovered looted cash from their possession, police said.
“On 18/12/2022, Police Station Chadoora received a written complaint from Shakir Bashir of Nowpora Chadoora stating that he along with his brother Wahid Ahmad Shergojri was returning from Srinagar in their Auto load Carrier. On reaching Badipora Chadoora, one Tata Mobile (Load carrier) bearing Registration number JK04H-2086 in which three unknown persons were on board stopped their auto load carrier and attacked them due to which they sustained injuries. Besides, snatched a cash amount of Rs 20,000 and fled away from the spot,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 204/2022 under relevant section of laws was registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers after working on various leads, obtained details of the suspected vehicle which led to the arrest of all three persons involved in the commission of crime, police said.
They have been identified as Nasir Hussain Malik son of Wali Mohd Malik, Mohd Saleem Bhat son of Mohd Ahsan Bhat, both residents of Charar Sharief and Irfan Ali son of Ali Mohd Ahangar resident of Hufroo Charar Sharief. Looted cash amount of Rs 20,000 have been recovered from their possession.
Besides, the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. Further investigation is going on, police added.
