DC Budgam visits NIFT Campus Ompora, PRIs accommodation site at Shiekhpora

Budgam, Dec 20: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid Tuesday visited the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), campus at SIDCO Budgam and under-construction PRIs Accommodation at Shiekhpora to inspect the pace and progress of ongoing work process of these projects.
During visit to NIFT Campus, the DC took on spot stock of progress made in the construction work of Academic cum Administrative block, Auditorium Incubation, Canteen, Boys and Girls hostels, Guest House, Community Centre, landscaping, boundary wall and other related construction works going on at the campus.
Terming the NIFT Campus as a prestigious project, the DC said that the work on all blocks including Academic block, Landscaping and Hostels both boys and girls should be completed in a given timeframe.
He said remaining works on girls hostels be completed on war footing for the hassle-free shifting of girls to the hostel building at the earliest.
The DC emphasized that the work process on the National level project should be carried out smoothly in a coordinated manner and it (work) should not stop or be delayed under any circumstances.
Director NIFT, Javed Ahmad Wani, Executive Engineer SIDCO and other concerned accompanied the DC on the occasion.
Later, the DC also visited the under-construction PRIs Accommodation Project at Shiekhpora and took first-hand appraisal of work progress.
The DC instructed that work on the project worth Rs. 641 Lacs project be expedited for speedy completion of all remaining works.
He also took a detailed review of the Transit Accommodation Project to be set up at Qazibagh at the cost of Rs. 23 crore.
Executive Engineer R&B Budgam informed that the work on the Transit Accommodation stands tendered and work on the project shall be started at the earliest.
