DDC Chairperson inaugurates several works at Lar block

Ganderbal, Dec 20: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq Tuesday conducted a whirlwind tour of block Lar and inaugurated several developmental works there.
The DDC Chairperson was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; BDO Lar besides other district and sectoral officers.
During the visit, the Chairperson DDC inaugurated construction of the main gate and allied works at Ziyarat Sharief Shah Sadiq Qalander (RA) constructed at the cost of Rs 3 lakh under DDC grants.
She also laid foundation stone for the construction of a shed at cremation ground Lar which is constructed at the cost of Rs 3 lakh under DDC grants.
Meanwhile, Chairperson DDC conducted a public hearing camp at BDO office Lar along with ADDC Ganderbal.
During camp, the locals apprised the chairperson about various issues and demands pertaining to their areas including early commissioning of Repora Bala and Lari Preng water schemes, ATM facility at Watlar, upgradation of middle school Watlar, plugging of leakages of Lar canal besides other issues of public importance.
Nuzhat Ishfaq gave patient hearing to the issues raised and assured the locals that the demands raised shall be discussed with the concerned departments for their timely redressal. She further added that district administration is committed to ensure overall development of the area and various development projects are under execution which shall be completed in a time bound manner.
On the occasion DDC Chairperson also gave necessary instructions to the officers for ensuring timely redressal of grievances raised by the locals as per their competence.
Later, Nuzhat Ishfaq also inaugurated grill fencing of a park near Jamia Masjid Lar-B, constructed at the cost of Rs 3 lakh under DDC grants.
She also visited PHC Manigam where she enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients. She visited various sections of the PHC and exhorted upon the medical and para-medical staff to ensure punctuality and better healthcare services to the patients.
Later, Nuzhat Ishfaq also inspected the work progress on Wayil Bridge constructed over Sindh Nallah and was satisfied with the work progress.
Keeping in view the importance of the project, she urged the executing agency to further expedite the progress so that the bridge gets completed in time.
