Ganderbal, Dec 24: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Saturday chaired the meeting of officers to review the arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day-2023 function here.
The meeting was informed that the main function will be held at Qamaria ground Ganderbal where the chief guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the March past.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on various arrangements to be put in place at the venue for the National function, including preparation and consolidation of the main venue ground, podium, security, seating, transportation, barricading, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare, availability of ambulance and deployment of fire tenders besides sanitation measures etc.
It was informed that the march past will be presented by the contingents drawn from District Police, CRPF, Armed Police, NCC, PTS Manigam and students of various educational institutions. Besides, Cultural programs shall also be presented by the students during the function.
Dy. Chief Education Officer, District Youth Services & Sports Officer and Cultural Officer were directed to ensure arrangements for the cultural programme for the Day.
While addressing the meeting, the DC directed the concerned officers to oversee different arrangements in close coordination among the concerned departments to ensure smooth and successful conduct of function.
ADC Ganderbal was nominated as Nodal Officer to monitor the preparedness activities regarding the Republic Day celebrations.
Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mehraj-u-din Shah; CPO, SDM Kangan, ACD, District Heads of various departments besides officials of Army and CRPF.
