Shah Shams Faqir conference held in Budgam

Srinagar, Dec 26: Asian Mail Communications, in collaboration with Shams Faqir Cultural Welfare Society, organized a one-day Shah Shams Faqir Conference at Kalshipura, Shamshabad, Budgam, in which the speakers shed light on various aspects of Sufism, literature, and Kashmiriyat. The conference was presided over by the famous Broadcaster, writer, and poet Abdul Ahad Farhad.
The famous Sufi preacher of the valley, Maulvi Abdul Ghani Butt was the special guest.
DDC Member Bashir Ahmad Bhat and Editor-in-Chief Asian Mail Rashid Rahil were the guests of honour. A good number of young people participated in the conference.
On this occasion, the poetry collection (Paiwand Ishq) by Syed Hakeem Mustafa Shah (Muskol) was released.
On the ceremony, Majlis President Abdul Ahad Farha urged the youth of the valley to pay special attention to the words and heritage of their predecessors and adopt ways of peace and harmony by remaining committed to the mission of Sufism in today’s world full of conflict. During this, Ghulam Rasool Parwana and Maulana Abdul Ghani presented a detailed commentary on the words of Sufi poet Shah Shams Faqir. Muhammad Yasin Darhgami presented a motion of thanks.
Dozens of poets who participated in the conference presented their poetry, among them Muhammad Yasin Darhgami, Faqir Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh, Gulzar Ahmed Khatwari, Shabir Ahmed Sagar, Syed Tariq, Sagar Ali Muhammad, Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir, Mushtaq Ahmed Krishpuri, Mubarak Ahmed Mubarak,Syed Zahoor Ahmad, Attaullah Muhammad Butt, Hameed Nasir, Abdul Ahad Farhad, Ali Muhammad.
