Bandipora, Dec 29: Inhabitants of Gurdal village of Malangam in Bandipora on Thursday complained that their area is without drinking water for the last several years while the concerned department is paying no attention towards their sufferings.
The villagers said that the administration has failed to provide basic facilities to the people.
They said that they approached the authorities many times and received only assurances. They said their women folk face a lot of hardships in fetching water from different spots.
“We are being forced to fetch and consume filthy water from a nearby stream as there is no proper drinking water supply in the area,” said Ameena Begum.
The locals said that the government should look into the matter at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief. (KNO)
