Bandipora, Dec 30: An ambulance driver in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district Friday set an example after he rescued a pregnant woman from far off village Chuntimulla in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district even as his wages are pending since the last two years.
The ambulance driver Mohammad Amin Lone working under hospital development fund (HDF), rescued the pregnant women early morning when the road leading to Chuntimulla village was closed due to accumulation of snow.
Even though the road was closed due to snowfall, Lone rushed the pregnant woman to the district hospital at the right time which was a very difficult task for him.
The example setting act of the driver was hailed by citizens across the district who despite the tough situation due to snowfall managed to rescue the pregnant woman from the far off village.
However, the unfortunate part of the hearted driver’s story is that he was deprived of the monthly wages for the last two years despite several reminders from chief medical officer (CMO) to Block medical officer (BMO).
Amin said that even though he is performing 24 hours duty, he has not got the monthly wages for the last two years due to which he’s suffering.
“As I have performed my duty today I am doing it every day but unfortunately I am not getting my wages for the same for the last two years,” he said, adding that CMO has also instructed the concerned BMO many times that our salary wages be paid.
