Night temp plummets across Kashmir

Gulmarg, Pahalgam record season's coldest night

Srinagar, Jan 2: The minimum temperature has plummeted once again across the Valley including at Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir while Gulmarg and Pahalgam recorded season’s coldest night at minus 10 degree Celsius and minus 9.6 degree Celsius.
The night temperature plummeted at Srinagar where the mercury settled at minus 5.4 degree Celsius against last night’s 0.5 degree Celsius.
Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort recorded the coldest night of season at minus 10 degree Celsius, the data said, adding that Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination also recorded the coldest night of season at minus 9.6 degree Celsius.
Kupwara in northern district of Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.7 degree Celsius while Kokernag in Southern district recorded a low of minus 4.6 degree Celsius.
The mercury settled at minus 5.8 degree Celsius, the data further said.
Pertinently, amid the 40-day harsh winter period, Chilla-i-Kalan, the weatherman has predicted warmer days and colder nights for the next few days. The weatherman has also predicted dry weather conditions till January 07.
