While addressing the meeting, Commissioner Secretary reaffirmed government’s commitment of providing ecosystem support to those PIAs who desire to work for good of the society.
Mandeep Kaur asked the PIAs to submit complete details of current and prospective employers where the candidates have been placed and yet to be placed as well. She emphasized the need for revision of existing trades under which PIAs are imparting training in view of current market scenario. HIMAYAT Mission shall coordinate with other departments for seeking different trade opportunities in various sectors required for the youth of J&K, she maintained.

Pertinently, Himayat is a Skill Development-cum-Placement programme for unemployed youth targeted at school and college drop-outs. The focus is on placements of youth in a befitting manner commensurate with the level of education and their aspirations.
Under the umbrella of DDU-GKY, Union Ministry of Rural Development, HIMAYAT Mission has been entrusted with an ambitious mission of training and placing candidates from across the UT through the Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).
