DC Budgam reviews Agriculture sector; interacts with JAEOs, AEAs

Budgam, Jan 7: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid Saturday reviewed the functioning of Agriculture Department Budgam during a meeting convened here. He also held an interaction with all Junior Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs) and Agriculture Extension Assistants (AEAs) of the department.
At the outset, the DC stressed on speedy verification of beneficiaries and bulk uploading of Revenue records of eligible PM- Kissan beneficiaries at the earliest.
In order to ensure clearance of pending cases of genuine beneficiaries, the DC instructed concerned to hold village level camps for prompt disposal of cases under inheritance mutations and undivided property.
Stressing on close monitoring, the DC directed concerned to share updates on daily targets and daily mutations done at village level and achieve targets under Mission mode.
He emphasized on verification of farmers to be carried out in a coordinated manner by both revenue and agriculture employees to ensure speedy completion of the task in a time bound manner.
The DC termed the PM- Kissan an important welfare scheme and stressed that benefits of the scheme should reach all eligible and deserving farmers across the district.
Earlier, it was given out that village level coordination teams are to be headed by respective NTs and monitored by concerned Tehsildars. SDMs were designated as nodal persons for keeping DC updated on daily basis
The DC also reviewed the progress of sanctioning of KCC cases, distribution of Soil Health Cards and instructed concerned to publicise success stories of progressive farming for massive awareness for the general public.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam, Dr. Akramullah Tak, officers and officials from Agriculture, Revenue and other concerned departments.
