Bandipora, Jan 7: The authorities have failed to complete the construction of the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Zurimanz area of Bandipora even after seven years.
Locals said that the construction agency has come up only with the concrete structure and the work on the hospital has remained on halt for years with the building remaining abandoned.
They said that the patients are facing a lot of difficulties in the village and its surrounding areas, as the village does not have proper facilities in the old building of the health centre.
Abdul Ahad a local said that the health centre is currently operating out of a rented room where all types of facilities are not available to patients.
Mushtaq Ahmad, another local, said that the government should take the necessary steps and should complete the pending work on a top-priority basis so that people will get relief.
An official said that the lack of funds forced them to stop the further construction work of the building. Once the funds will be released the work will be started,” he said. (KNO)
