Srinagar, Jan 11: Rayees Mohammad Bhat (IPS) on Wednesday assumed charge as Deputy Inspector General of Police south Kashmir.
Recipient of police medal for gallantry in 2016 and 2018 besides JKPMG in 2019, Bhat was transferred last weekend and posted as the incharge DIG South Kashmir Range, Anantnag, against an available vacancy, relieving Sujit Kumar of the additional charge of the post.
The former SSP Baramulla said that he looks forward to public cooperation to get rid of the society of the various evils plaguing it. “People should come forward and together we should be able to salvage the society and get rid of the various evils including drugs.”
Rayees Mohammad Bhat said that safety and security of the people remains the prime objective of the police and he will continue to discharge duties in this endeavor. (GNS)
