Govt making necessary efforts to make JK investment-friendly destination: Bhatnagar

Kathua, Jan 18: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar Wednesday visited Bhagthali and Ghatti Industrial Estates of Kathua district and inspected the progress ongoing works and other facilities being established at these places.
During the visit, the Advisor held a detailed round of both the industrial estates and interacted with the industrialists. He was briefed on the roadmap for facilities and infrastructure being created at industrial estates.
At the site of J&K SIDCO Bhagthali, Advisor Bhatnagar was apprised by the concerned officers that 2950 kanals of land has been allotted for industrial purpose for which the apex committee has accorded the approval for ten industrial units in first phase.
The Advisor while discussing the modalities for starting the units, emphasized upon them to obtainall necessary clearances and bring all stakeholders on board so as to ensure fulfilment of all the prerequisites like uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, construction of bunds besides proper drainage system. The Advisor also asked the Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu, and MD SIDCO/SiCOP to ensure early resolution of the issues and ensure speedy development of the estates through detailed deliberations with all stakeholders.
Highlighting that the J&K Industrial Policy-2020 has created an eco system for investment and industrial development and accelerated growth Advisor Bhatnagar said that the present LG led Administration is committed to provide all necessary support and assistance to the industrialists. He said that the Government is taking all necessary steps to encourage industrial development in the region besides assuring that all issues of the industrialists are addressed on priority.
While inspecting the SIDCO industrial estate at Ghatti, the Advisor took a tour of the industrial establishments and took onspot assessment of all the facilities being established there.
The Advisor later met Kathua Industrial Units Association representatives and discussed the issues projected by them at length He said that the Government is working towards attracting investments, creating employment opportunities and generating economic development in the region.
The Director General, Industries and Commerce, Jammu, MD SIDCO/SICOP, GM DIC Kathua, ACR and other concerned officers accompanied the advisor during the visit.
