The snowfall comes with a lot of difficulties for the general public, especially to those living in the far-off villages of Jammu and Kashmir. Although the administration has been claiming to have cleared all the roads and ensured complete restoration of the electricity and other facilities to the people, the ground situation has been contrary as the people in far-off villages continue to face immense hardships. In one such instance of hardships, the villagers of one of Karnah villages have been reportedly forced to carry a patient on shoulders to reach the hospital after he developed severe pain. It is pertinent to mention here that the Karnah area remained cut off with the rest of the Valley from the last eight days following the moderate snowfall in the area. The roads have not been cleared yet, thus forcing the villagers to carry the patient on their shoulders to reach the hospital for treatment. Such an issue has been reported many times in the past, but it seems there is no need for the miseries of far-off villagers as the roads are not being cleared on time, thereby pushing the people to the wall. In case, the villagers will not reach the hospital on time, there is every possibility that the patient could have lost his life, which cannot be compensated in any manner. Therefore, the government must look into the matter and ensure that such happenings are put to an immediate end. The people belonging to far-off villages deserve better facilities and thus the immediate and necessary measures must be taken so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
