SSP Awantipora chairs crime, security review meeting

Srinagar, Jan 18: SSP Awantipora Mohd Yousif chaired a crime, security review meeting at District Police Lines Awantipora. The meeting was attended by all SDPOs, DySP DAR, Sr. Prosecuting Officer, SHOs and Incharge PPs of Police District Awantipora.
During the meeting, targets and goals for 2023, arrangements for upcoming Republic Day celebrations, disposal of pending UAPA cases, security of vulnerable persons & other aspects of policing including verifications, disposal of NDPS, inquest proceedings and other issues related to accountable policing were also discussed.
SSP Awantipora urged the officers to make all possible efforts in fight against menace of drugs and work dedicatedly to prevent social crimes & cybercrimes.
During the meeting, participating officers briefed SSP Awantipora about the security scenario in their respective areas and the security measures being adopted to counter the challenges. SSP Awantipora directed the participating officers to remain extra-vigilant, strengthen nakas/checkpoints, and generate actionable intelligence so that the nefarious designs of anti-national elements can be thwarted.
Security measures/preparations for forthcoming Republic Day-2023 celebrations was discussed in detail. SSP Awantipora emphasized upon the officers to maintain synergy and better coordination with other security forces working on the ground in order to ensure peaceful atmosphere in the Police district.
All officers were instructed to adopt a public-centric approach and to ensure redressal of their grievances.
