Republic Day: Full dress rehearsals held across Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 24: Ahead of 74th Republic Day, full dress rehearsal was held, on Tuesday, across all the districts of Kashmir, giving a glimpse of the grand spectacle to unfold on Thursday.
The rehearsal is a precursor to the actual Republic Day parade scheduled to be held on January 26.
In Srinagar, the full dress rehearsal was held at S.K Stadium Sonwar, Srinagar where Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole unfurled the tricolor over the mast and took salute at the March–past.
On the occasion, various contingents of security agencies took part in the parade including J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Indian Reserve Police, Central Reserve Police Force, SSB besides Home Guards, Fire & Emergency contingent, NCC cadets and students.
Later, Div Com witnessed various cultural programmes based on cultural and patriotic songs presented by different artist groups, troupes and students to enthuse the spirit of patriotism among the people.
At Ganderbal, full dress rehearsal was held in district Ganderbal at Qamariya Ground, here.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir unfurled the tricolor, took the salute at the march-past, inspected the parade and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at the venue.
At Anantnag, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Wani unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents from CRPF, J&K Police, Home Guards, NCC and school children at GDC Boys, Khanabal.
At Budgam, Full dress rehearsal was held at Sports Stadium Budgam.
On the occasion, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak hoisted the National flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march-past.
At Pulwama, full dress rehearsal held at District Police Line Pulwama.
On the occasion, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, Dr Ab. Aziz Sheikh hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the march past comprising contingents from CRPF, District Police, IRP, JKP Womens Wing, Home guard, Commandant forces, Band squad and School children from various educational institutes.
At Kulgam, full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines Kulgam where Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past.
The march past was presented by contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Women Police, IRPF, Home Guard, Police band, new police recruits, NCC cadets, School children and other contingents.
At Baramulla, full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines Baramulla where Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina unfurled the national flag besides inspected the parade and took salute at the March Past.
The march past was presented by the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Home guards, Armed Police, NCC and Students from different Schools.
At Kupwara, full dress rehearsal was held at District Police Lines Kupwara where Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at march-past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Home Guards, FPF and police contingents.
At Shopian, full dress rehearsal was held with great enthusiasm at District Police Lines, here.
The contingents of CRPF, JKP, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, NCC cadets and School Children of various Educational Institutions presented an impressive March past.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Yar Ali Khan unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the March Past.
At Bandipora, full dress rehearsals were held across Bandipora district.
The main event was held at S. K Stadium Bandipora where Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan accompanied by ASP Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Tak unfurled the flag and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents comprising JKP, CRPF, SPOs, NCC cadets and contingents from various schools.
Senior officers of Civil Administration, Army and paramilitary forces were also present at the full dress rehearsal.
