Bandipora, Feb 9: After years of waiting, the Government district Hospital Bandipora in northern Kashmir here is getting its first ever CT Scan machine, which boasts of the latest and advanced technology.
An official said that 128 Slice Ingenuity CT Scanner will be the first kind of Scanner now available in the district. The 128 Slice Ingenuity CT Scanner, is capable of high quality brain and body angiography, he said.
The official further said that the Scanner has Virtual endoscopy and colonoscopy applications. He expressed that a new CT scan machine which is arriving in the hospital and will be installed within month so that it becomes operational and the patients benefit with the facility.
He also said that the patients had to go to private scan centers in Srinagar city. “In the absence of machines, many times, it becomes a compulsion for the doctors to refer serious patients to Srinagar, especially those suffering head injuries in accidents,” he added.
