Budgam, Feb 10: About six years after the work on the new building of Primary Health Centre in Budgam’s Khansahib was started, the hospital building is still incomplete.
Currently, the Primary Health Centre Hardu Panzoo in Khansahib catering about 30 villages is functional from an old building with less space causing hardships to staff as well as patients.
Locals said that work on the new building was started in 2017 and it has not been completed till now.
They said that while the PHC is functional round the clock throughout the week, the health facility lacks basic amenities.
Mohammad Ayoub, a local, said that the centre lacks USG machine, digital x-ray machine and an analyzer.
In absence of the facilities, patients are presently forced to visit a sub district or district hospital taking a toll on them.
Locals said that around 80 percent of the work on the new building has been already completed but it has been left incomplete as of now.
They demanded that the government must complete the pending work on the health centre at the earliest and should shift the centre to a new building where all kinds of facilities will be made available to the patients.
They requested Deputy Commissioner Budgam and CMO concerned to look into the matter at the earliest and take immediate steps regarding this issue.
