Srinagar, Feb 15: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Budgam on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two persons for illegally procuring and selling Kerosene oil in Beerwah.
“Police Station Beerwah received an information through reliable sources that some unknown persons at Ganai Mohalla Beerwah are illegally procuring Kerosene oil from illicit channels and are selling the same to one Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai son of Ali Muhammad Ganai resident of Ganai Mohalla Beerwah at his residential premises,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
On receipt of this information, a police party of Police Station Beerwah along with Executive Magistrate raided the specific spot and seized a vehicle (Tata-mobile) bearing registration number JK04E-5086 loaded with three barrels containing approximately 300 litres of illegally procured Kerosene oil from the residential premises of Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie.
The driver of said vehicle identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rahim Wani resident of Lawarmunda Qazigund alongwith accused Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, police said that a case under FIR number 26/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Beerwah and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, police said that persons found indulging in illegal activities shall be dealt with as per law. “Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units,” police said. (KNO)
