Secretary visits JKAACL, reviews functioning

Asks officers to scale up activities for promotion of Art, Culture, Languages

Srinagar, Feb 27: Secretary, Culture, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Monday visited Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (J&K AACL), Lal Mandi, Srinagar and reviewed functioning of the institute.
Secretary had an introductory cum interactive session with the officers and officials of the department.
Secretary stressed upon the officers to further scale up activities being conducted by the Academy for promotion of Art, Culture and Languages. He also asked them to chalk out a strategy to produce rich and quality output of research papers, literature and other publications by the Academy.
He asked for wider consultation with all the stakeholders including artists and researchers to improve the quality and standard of publications being released on rich culture and literature of J&K.
Dr Syed Abid instructed the officials for encouraging involvement of youth in different activities and events being organized by the cultural academy. He directed them for publication of weekly and monthly schedule of activities and programmes to be organized by the academy for information of general public.
He emphasized on the issue of information technology as a force multiplier for the work and mandate of JKAACL regarding preservation, creation and promotion of Art, languages & literature.
Apart from In-charge Divisional Head of JKAACL and Deputy Secretary JKAACL, the interactive session was attended by researchers, artists, calligraphers and officials of the Academy.
