Srinagar, Mar 9: Paramedical Staff of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar protested on Thursday against the hospital administration for withholding their salaries for five months.
The staff raised slogans in favour of their demand while requesting authorities to look into the matter at the earliest.
Protesters said that their salaries have been kept withheld for not submitting time bound orders despite submitting all other documents.
There are so many employees who have lost their documents in the 2014 floods but GMC is supposed to have copies of bond orders and other documents, so why don’t they check them, they said.
“We have been going through tough times in the absence of salaries since the last five months despite uploading all documents except time bound promotion copy on JKHRM portal as authorities haven’t provided us the same,” they said.
“We have repeatedly brought this issue to the notice of higher ups several times but to no avail,” they said.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest so that they won’t suffer anymore.
Meanwhile an official said that paramedical staff will get their salaries very soon.
