IFFJK: A cinematic moment for UT

Jhelum is calling: What are we leaving behind for our future?

With Srinagar witnessing frequent traffic jams in wake of the ongoing developmental works under Smart city project in the summer capital, there is a need to bring some relief to the people by taking some decisions, which would end up the sufferings of commuters to a large extent. Most of the roads have been dug to beautify the summer capital, but the commuters have been facing immense hardships as the less space couldn’t accommodate the huge rush of the vehicles. The government has from time to time apologized to the people for the inconvenience, saying that it is obvious that the people will have to face hardships, but this is being done to beautify the Srinagar City further. However, one needs to understand why the U-turns continue to remain blocked, which would bring respite to the commuters in the frequent traffic jams. The commuters are being forced to remain stuck in the traffic jams, but the administration doesn’t bother to take some relieving measures that would bring respite to the people. On priority, all the U-turns must be opened up again so that the people are not forced to remain stuck in the traffic jams more frequently. It would not only bring respite to the commuters, but would also reduce the traffic jams on the roads amid the ongoing developmental works in Srinagar. There is a need to identify spots where the traffic jams are being witnessed so that some necessary and favourable measures are taken to bring respite to the people.
