Yet again, the government has promised adequate electricity during the holy month of Ramadhan, but what needs to be ensured is the implementation of the statement in letter and spirit. The consumers in Kashmir valley have always complained of erratic power supply in the month of Ramadhan, especially at the time of Sehri and Iftari, thereby letting down the people despite being promised of high and tall every year. This year too, the people have been promised of adequate electricity, but what has changed from the past years, is the augmentation of the power infrastructure, which gives a new hope to the people and expectations too with regard to the adequate electricity this holy month. Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has recently made a statement, wherein he claimed that the concerned Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has already geared up and will ensure adequate electricity to the people when asked about the previous complaints of the consumers. The augmentation of the power infrastructure has not only brought hopes, but the people are looking forward to witnessing an end to the erratic power supply in the holy month of Ramadhan. As already, the curtailment hours have been reduced following the improvement in the weather conditions, but the concerned department should gear up its men and machinery to ensure that the people will not face hardships in the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan, so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
