SSP Poonch chairs security review meeting

Poonch, Mar 22: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Rohit Baskotra on Wednesday called for maximum alertness of troops and keeping a close track on Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militant organisations and on history sheeters.
He issued these directions to field forces while chairing a security review meeting of police and paramilitary forces in Poonch district police office.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Poonch Mushim Ahmed, Sub Divisional Police Officers of district and officers from recently deployed CRPF companies.
According to an official statement, police in Poonch district informed that during this meeting a general feedback about the militancy, law and order, narcotics, anti infiltration grid was sought by SSP Poonch from all the field officers.
CRPF officers briefed the meeting about the security scenario and all other related issues in the field, said police.
SSP Poonch, Rohit Baskotra stressed for maximum alertness in the field besides proper deployment in the minority areas, keep strict vigil on all the anti social elements and watch on narco smugglers.
SSP Poonch has also asked the field officers to make a proper sketch of areas and also to keep liason with local population and PRIs besides keeping track on all the OGW history sheeters.
The attending officers were also asked that the issues pertaining to general public to be taken care of.
Pertinent to mention here that security apparatus in Poonch district is already on high alert after recent cross LoC narcotics smuggling bids. (KNO)
