A youngster from Hyderpora area of Srinagar has become the latest victim of rash driving, who lost his life after he met with an accident Friday on boulevard road here while a video clip of rash driving by the bikers accompanying him also went viral on the social media platform. It is unfortunate that a loss of life was reported due to the rash driving, which could have prevented in case the parents and the concerned authorities could have played their pivotal role in putting an end to the rash driving by the bikers. It has been witnessed that most of the youngsters, especially those who are not license holders, are riding two-wheelers even without wearing the crash helmets, thus increasing the risk of the fatal road accidents. The parents have an important role to play by ensuring that their beloved will not be ride the two-wheelers till they cross the age-mark and also get a valid license. Besides, the traffic department must increasing the number of checking spots to ensure that all those who are below aged and without license will face strict action if they are found riding the two-wheelers. The loss of life can never be compensated, thus every citizen of the society has to play their role to put an end to the rash driving by youngsters and also prevent the incidents like yesterday. The concerned department should also take strict action against the bikers, who are found involved in doing stunts on boulevard road, which would also help in reducing the number of fatal accidents on the two-wheelers.
