To eradicate the corruption practices from Jammu & Kashmir, every official from different departments across the Union Territory is under a close vigil as the pace of action against such officials have increased swiftly.Just two days ago, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO), Jammu and a Private Person (middleman) in a bribery of Rs 10 lakh. A trap was laid and the Chief Horticulture Officer was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from the complainant. On Monday, the anti corruption bureau (ACB) arrested three employees at the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) in Sopore for accepting bribe. Three employees (consolidated) at ARTO office Sopore were arrested for taking bribe from the public visiting the office for obtaining Driving License, NOC and registration of vehicles. Moreover, Jammu and Kashmir police suspended two police men including an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) after a video of them taking bribe from a driver in Ramban district went viral on social media. A traffic cop deployed at Ramban Bazar to Trishol Morh was seen indulging in an unprofessional conduct by accepting money from a driver at Naka Trishol Morh. Such actions are a clear indication that the administration is quite swift in ensuring action against the corrupt officials and eradicating the menace from the society. There is a need to further increase the vigil against the corrupt officials and work more swiftly on the complaints to ensure that the corruption is put to an immediate end in Jammu & Kashmir.
