Keep Kashmir connected

It has become too hectic to travel along the different routes in Srinagar nowadays as the frequent traffic mess is being witnessed, especially in the evening amid the ongoing developmental works in the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. The ongoing developmental works are all set to give a new charm and pleasing look in Srinagar, but the prolonged traffic mess at present has been pushing the commuters to the wall, who remain stuck in the gridlock for a long time to reach their destinations. On April 11, 2023, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri had directed all Officers, Officials and contractors associated with these works to complete them within ten days. However, the period has elapsed, but the works have been completed, though the CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) has claimed that the most of the works have been completed while several others are in the final stage. As the government has asked the executing agencies to pace up the work, there is a need to ensure that the completion of all the projects involving roads at earliest so that the people, especially the commuters and the tourist as well, will not face hardships while travelling to and from Srinagar. It is the time when the executing agencies should be directed to increase the men and machinery so that the sufferings of people will come to an immediate end and the projects are completed at earliest.
