Bandipora, May 17: Sundara village, located in the remote region of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, has witnessed a remarkable transformation in its education system, bringing hope to the community.
The government primary school in Sundara has become a beacon of quality education, surpassing the standards of nearby private schools. The locals said that the diligent efforts of the education to improve infrastructure and facilities in the area have garnered praise from both parents and students.
For years, the lack of educational resources forced parents in Sundara village to send their children to private schools in neighboring towns, despite the financial burden and inconvenience it entailed. However, a turning point was when the government recognized the need for quality education in such remote areas and began prioritizing improvements in government-run schools.
“Furkaan Aasim Dar, a student at the primary school, said: “The facilities in government schools have undergone a significant transformation in recent months, and the teachers exhibit unwavering dedication and passion. My learning pace has accelerated, and I’m growing more than ever before.”
Aisha Malik, another student said that being a student at the government primary school in Sundara village has been a game-changer for her. “The well-developed infrastructure and modern facilities have transformed my learning experience. It feels incredible to study in classrooms equipped with the latest technology and resources,” she said.
Parents, who were initially hesitant to enrol their children in government schools, have witnessed the positive changes first-hand and are delighted with the quality of education and infrastructure now available. They find it comparable to that of private institutions, but without the associated costs and travel inconveniences.
Bashir Ahmad, a local resident, added, “The government has commendably enhanced the infrastructure and facilities in these schools. The well-equipped classrooms and highly knowledgeable and experienced teachers have created an environment conducive to effective learning. My child’s education has significantly improved.”
The primary school in Sundara village presently accommodates 250 students, who receive quality education from the dedicated teachers posted there. With a team of eight teachers working tirelessly, the school aims to uplift the educational standards of these underprivileged students.
“The school has adopted a unique teaching approach. If any student struggles with a subject, teachers provide additional support during free periods to strengthen their understanding. This initiative has been widely appreciated by parents and has motivated them to transition their children from private to government institutions,” a senior teacher at the school said.
“We are extremely pleased with the progress witnessed in Sundara village and aspire to replicate this success in other parts of the district. Education is the cornerstone of development, and our district is dedicated to offering quality education to every child,” emphasized a district education official.
