Committed to create drug-free environment: DC Srinagar

Vijapur, May 23: Former minister and Vice President Pradesh BJP Surjeet Singh Slathia Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir is poised to witness a huge tourist footfall post G 20 event, adding that the economic activity is destined to undergo unprecedented transformation.
Speaking at BJP’s Mandal Karyakarni at Gurah Salathia in the Vijaypur assembly constituency this morning, Slathia said the event has rekindled a big hope among all those associated with tourism and travel trade besides crafts and the day is not far when the Union Territory will become a shining chapter of India’s envious growth story .
Slathia asserted that the BJP alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir to peace and stability as the party is religiously working towards restoring dignity of the people and instilling a sense of confidence in them after dark phase of turbulence.
Referring to the most successful visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Japan in connection with the G7 meeting and his ongoing tour of several countries, Slathia said the esteem he got from various heads of nations has made every Indian proud. His statesmanship and visionary leadership has put the nation on the path of becoming Vishwa Guru, he added.
Slathia also referred to various initiatives taken for progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir in the recent years and said the people in both the regions are feeling the positives of the change in a big way. This is why they are determined to give the BJP a chance to proceed ahead with its mission of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, While the development is touching newer heights, investments are hugely pouring in for massive industrialization, job generation and the overall growth apart from welfare schemes and projects witnessing impetus in all the regions and sub-regions without discrimination or any sort of appeasement to some at the cost of others. On the security front, he said the ‘usual norm’ of stone-pelting and intermittent shutdowns across the Valley has become a nightmare of the past, paving way for unprecedented influx of tourists round the year, The holding of the G20 event reflects people’s yearning for continued and lasting peace, he added.
Similarly, Slathia said that Jammu is feeling empowered and enriched by being on the equal pedestal in respect of development and progress.
