Srinagar, May 25: A teenage boy slipped to death in flood channel in Tengpora area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thursday.
An official said that the boy, 19, slipped into the flood channel near Tengpora.
He said soon after the incident a police team along with locals launched a rescue operation.
“Despite hectic efforts the boy couldn’t be saved and later his body was retrieved from the channel,” he said.
He has been identified as Masood Ahmad Kalas (18) son of Muzamil Kalas of Poshkar Kangan.
“After medico-legal formalities, body will be handed over to his family,” the official said.
