Srinagar, May 29: Police on Monday filed chargesheet against five persons involved in gambling.
A police spokesman said that a chargesheet was filed in a case under FIR number 22/2023 under section 13 Gambling act of Harwan Police Station PS before 2nd additional Munsif Court Srinagar against five persons.
The accused were identified as Bashir Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Samad of Arabal Shalimar, Muhammad Iqbal, son of Gh Rasool Bhat of Bonigam Shalimar, Mohd Yaseen Dar, son of Ab Samad Dar of Ishber Nishat, Bashir Ahmad Mir, son of Gh Qadir Mir of Pazwalpora Shalimar and Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh Mohd Sheikh of Mirakabad Shalimar.
They were arrested while gambling at Shalimar area on 30-04-2023, police said, adding that Rs 36,070 and 52 playing cards were recovered from them.
