Anantnag, Jun 5: Picturesque tourist resort of Pahalgam is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world and is witnessing 25 per cent increase in tourist flow this year and facilities are being further enhanced to attract more tourists towards Pahalgam, DC Anantnag said on Monday.
DC Anantnag Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid that this year the flow to tourists to Pahalgam is on rise and around 25 percent more tourists are visiting Pahalgam this year as compared to last year and flow is expected to increase further.
“Every hotel and every guest of JKTDC are booked in Pahalgam and it is such a beautiful place that needs no promotion as it is famous all over the world. With improvement in weather, the flow of tourists will increase more,” he added.
He added that further facilities are being enhanced to attract more tourists towards Pahalgam and events are also being organised as per tourism department calendar while service providers are also being roped in for promotion of tourism in Pahalgam.
However, DC Anantnag was quick to add that tourists must resort to ethical behavior and take safety precautions.
“People mostly aren’t taking safety precautions during adventure tourism and in this regard tourism, revenue and other departments have been sensitized to ensure that tourists are taking safety precautions to avoid any incident,” he added.
He advised tourists to take precautions and not put their lives at stake for just a few pictures.
