Srinagar, Jun 15: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Thursday chaired a meeting at SKICC to take stock of the arrangements for the 3rd edition of ‘Vitasta Kashmir Festival’ to be organised here from 23rd to 25th of June by the Ministry of Culture, GoI.
Secretary, Tourism; Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC; Directors of Tourism, Hospitality and Protocol, Colleges, School Education, SKICC; VC, LCMA; Secretary, Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, SSPs, Director North Zone Council Centre (NZCC) Patiala, besides other Officers were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Director NZCC briefed the chair regarding segment wise programmes to be organized during the three days of Vitasta festival which include opening ceremony, cultural programmes besides organizing of painting and calligraphy camps, Art Installations Camp, Opera by NSD, New Delhi, Seminar, Exhibition by ASI, Display and Sale of Craft and Cuisine of J&K and representation from Tamilnadu and Maharashtra.
The meeting was also informed that an Outreach/ Pre-planned programme shall be held in various Schools/Colleges/Villages of District Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam and Baramulla (UT Jammu & Kashmir) from 16th to 21st June, 2023.
The Div Com maintained that the festival would be one of the events that is going to play a major role in promoting tourism and showcasing our rich cultural values.
Taking holistic review for smooth conduct of the programme, the Div Com took detailed stock of necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of inaugural ceremony and arrangement for visiting dignitaries.
He also reviewed Hanger and stage arrangements, seating arrangements, reception team, stage proceedings, cultural programmes, Artists and their boarding and lodging, refreshment, distribution of cards and other logistics.
The Director NZCC and heads of other concerned departments assured the chair that all arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
Earlier, he also informed that two rounds of the festival had been already organized in the cities of Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Pune (Maharashtra) and the final round is going to be held here on a larger scale.
