Reviews arrangements for annual Urs of Shah Sadiq Qalander (RA)

Ganderbal, Jun 16: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq on Friday visited Lar and Wutlar Ganderbal to take stock of arrangements for the ensuing annual Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Sadiq Qalander (RA).
The DDC Chairperson paid obeisance at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Sadiq Qalander (RA) at Lar in Ganderbal district on the eve of Annual Urs festivity being observed from Monday.
While interacting with the officers, she reiterated these spiritual shrines are our treasures and the path of love, humanity and spiritual excellence shown by our great sufi’s can lead us to the light of peace, contentment and social harmony which in turn will make our lives filled with all good. “We need to propagate the teachings of our sufi saints to our new generation”, she added.
She further said that she has released Rs. 6 lakh during the current year for the renovation of the shrine.
The DDC Chairperson stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure the availability of all the necessary arrangements so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
She also met the public delegations and later held a meeting with the concerned officers and Waqf staff. She directed the heads of all departments and Waqf officers to ensure that people don’t face any difficulties during the Urs congregations.
The DDC chairperson directed the officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water supply, proper sanitation measures, illumination and decoration of the shrine besides healthcare facilities and security arrangements at the Shrine.
ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Tehsildar Lar, SHO Lar, AEE R&B, AEE Jal Shakti, AEE PDD and other officers from, FCSCA, Health, Municipality accompanied the DDC Chairperson during the visit.
