79.89 per cent qualify annual regular 10th exams

Srinagar, Jun 19: With an overall pass percentage of 79.89 percent, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) on Monday declared the results of annual regular examinations of 10th standard.
The girl students have yet again outshined boys.
“Girls registered a total pass percentage of 81.68 percent while boys registered only 78.23 percent,” BOSE said
In the exams, a total of 1, 48,701 students were enrolled for class 10th session Annual Regular 2023 in the UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh out of which 1,18,791 students qualified the exams.
BOSE said that the exam was conducted at 1615 centres established across the soft and hard zone areas identified in both the UTs.
It also said that at least 13,823 students qualified the exam with A1 grade, 18,489 students with A2 grade, 24,147 secured B1 grade, 28,880 got B2 grade, 26,248 secured C1 grade, 7133 C2 grade and 78 students have been placed in Grade-D.
The figures also reveal that in the exams, one student was having a disputed eligibility, 11 students were caught with unfair means, exam was cancelled of 102 students, six students were disqualified for two years and one student for three years and the subject was cancelled of 136 students.
In the meantime, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha has congratulated the students.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sinha said, “Heartiest congratulations to all the students, who have passed @jkboseofficial Class 10th Annual Regular examinations-2023. Girls have once again outshined boys, with a pass percentage of 81.68 compared to boys’ 78.23%. My best wishes to students, their parents & teachers.” (SIC)
JKBOSE Chairperson Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor of JK Manoj Sinha, advisor School Education Department R.R. Bhatnagar IPS (Retd), Principal Secretary SED Alok Kumar IRS for their guidance and support to actualize the vision of Uniform Academic Calendar.
On June-09, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education announced annual regular results of 12th standard with an overall pass percentage of 65 percent.
Pertinently, the BOSE had identified 444 such schools in the both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir for which annual regular examinations will be held in the month of April instead of March.
Besides, the Board has also declared the whole Leh district of Union Territory of Ladakh as a hard zone and has accordingly directed to conduct the exams in the Month of April.
It had also said that the annual regular examination of hard zones or such areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh shall be held in the month of April.
“Result of annual regular examination of Kashmir Division and Jammu division and Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June,” BOSE has said in a notification
This is for the first time, JKBOSE conducted exams in March-April sessions instead of November-December.
