Kashmir’s new journey: From separatism, terrorism to peace, participation, progress

Yet again, the consumers across the Valley had to face tremendous hardships due to the unfortunate snag of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank’s mobile banking application—Mpay. The people were busy shopping but unexpectedly faced disappointment once again as the mobile banking application remained completely defunct throughout the day, pushing the people to the wall. It has become a norm now in Jammu and Kashmir that the mobile banking application of the concerned bank usually remains out of bounds for the people, who buy essentials including clothes, food stuff and other things to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid. One fails to understand why the authorities have failed to take necessary action in this regard as there has been no respite among the people during the festivals in Jammu & Kashmir as the mobile banking application always pushes them to the wall. Such a situation comes at a time when the government has completely shifted to the online mode and more than half of the population across Jammu & Kashmir are presently using the online means to run their business as well as buy essentials in the market. It is unfortunate that the concerned bank is not taking necessary measures in this regard to ensure that the frequent snags during the festivals are put to an end. It is the time when the government should intervene in this regard and make sure that such situations are not witnessed again in the future so that the people, especially shoppers could heave a sigh of relief.
