Srinagar, Jul 10: Senior BJP leader and MoS in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday inaugurated the 5-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) at S.P Model Higher Secondary School in Srinagar.
The program was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, at SP Higher Secondary School Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Singh congratulated CBC for arranging the program. He said that earlier he was under the impression that the country has failed its youth but now with emerging start-ups on the back of the initiatives of the Prime Minister, the youth can look forward to a bright future.
The guests included Joint Director CBC J&K and Ladakh, Ghulam Abbas, who provided an overview of the various schemes launched by the government for the people. He stated that CBC’s role is to take the schemes to the people so that the maximum population can benefit from them.
Dr Singh said India was looked upon as a land of scams and corruption which had a deleterious effect on people, especially the youth. “With his dynamic and visionary leadership, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken India out of despondency and the whole world is ready to work under the leadership of India. PM Modi has been a transformational figure in turning this pessimism to optimism and making India stand brightly among the comity of nations,” he said.
The union minister said that during the times of the Covid pandemic, the international community had apprehensions about how a country as large as India would handle the situation. However, India stood out in its handling of the pandemic and also came up with a vaccine, he said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that during the nine years of the present government, the benefits that have been given to citizens have not been based on race, religion, caste, colour or political affiliation. “The ASHA workers here can testify that we have overcome these discriminations and that there is a change in the culture, especially the political culture of the country,” he said.
