Srinagar, Jul 14: In a significant political development, Peoples Conference on Friday announced that Hilal Ahmed Rather would be its parliamentary candidate for Srinagar- Budgam segment.
PC president Sajad Gani Lone made the announcement during a public gathering organized by the party in Chadoora Assembly segment.
“In a significant announcement, PC President declared the candidacy of Hilal Rather for both the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency and the Chadoora Assembly segment. He said that this decision was made in recognition of Rather’s unwavering dedication to public service and his commitment to the welfare of the people,” a handout issued by PC reads.
With Hilal Rather in fray, Srinagar Lok Sabha segment would witness a direct contest between NC and PC. PC’s Imran Reza Ansari has also significant influence in few pockets of Central Kashmir’s Lok Sabha seat. (KNO)
