Anantnag, Jul 18: Member of Parliament and senior NC leader Hasnain Masoodi on Tuesday said that he is expecting that NC leadership will decide to contest the upcoming elections alone in Jammu & Kashmir.
Talking to reporters after a party meeting here at Kanelwan Anantnag, Masoodi said that “there are some fundamental concepts and our commitment to them but ideological unity doesn’t mean electoral unity at all.”
“We can stand with them after elections, who believe in fundamentals like communal harmony, social justice but I believe that ideological unity and electoral unity are two different things,” he said.
“I would be expecting that the leadership will decide to contest upcoming elections alone as it is the voice of workers, however, the final decision will be taken by the leadership,” he added.
He said that the case regarding Article 370 and 35A is very strong in the Supreme Court of India as decisions taken on 05 August 2019 were against the constitution.
“We are hopeful that the Supreme Court of India will ensure justice to J&K people,” he said.
He said that the meeting of 38 parties clearly indicates that the NDA is feeling nervous due to the unity of opposition parties in India.
“Earlier BJP used to say that they alone will come heavy on opposition but with unity of opposition, they felt the need of parties who don’t have any presence in legislation,” he said.
He said that people of India woke up as they have become well aware of the communal politics of BJP and they will keep them away from the government like Karnataka and HP.
