The corruption cases are continuously being reported in Jammu and Kashmir as the concerned agency—Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), has been catching the fishes very easily in different departments, who harass the general public by demanding and accepting the bribe from people, who went to the offices for some work. Despite the government deciding to go completely offline, some of the cases have been reported in J&K, where the public servants are seeking bribes from the common masses to get their work done. It seems that those who are habitual of corruption practice have been finding ways and means to loot the people by one way or the other. In one such instance, a person had applied for the post of Lumberdar Mohura in Tehsil Office Boniyar for which after qualifying the criteria laid down, he was declared a successful candidate. He approached Tehsildar Boniyar, for the receipt of the appointment order, but unfortunately, where Rs 10,000 were demanded from him. However, the ACB has acted swiftly over the complaint and arrested the involved person to ensure justice to the complainant. At this juncture, there is a need to identify all these black sheep, who are ruining the image of the whole department by their wrong doings, which needs to be dealt with strictly as per the law. The government should take strict measures in this regard to eliminate the corruption practices from Jammu & Kashmir once for all so that the people here could heave a sigh of relief and they will not be forced to pay hefty sums for getting their works done.
