Poonch, Aug 18: The Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary (IAS) chaired a crucial meeting to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra 2023.
The meeting focused on ensuring a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience for the devotees.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements and directed the Nodal Officers to personally visit the facilities, including designated lodgement centers to verify and ensure that all necessary amenities are in place for the facilitation of yatris.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the provision of essential services to the pilgrims. This includes the availability of safe drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, adequate medical facilities, clean toilets, proper sanitation facilities, comfortable lodging, well-organized community kitchens (langer facilities), as well as efficient traffic management and enhanced security arrangements. He further directed the departments to work in close coordination to finalize the necessary arrangements.
The Shri Buddha Amarnath Ji Yatra is scheduled to commence on August 18, 2023, and conclude on August 27, 2023. The procession of the holy mace, Chhari Mubarak, a significant event during the pilgrimage, will take place on August 28, 2023, starting from Shri Dashnami Akhara Poonch and culminating at Shri Budha Amarnath Mandir Mandi.
