Rajouri, Aug 19: The bridge situated on NH144A near Army Camp Manjakote is submerged in rainwater after heavy downpour on Saturday. As a result, vehicles passing through the area are at risk, as they are forced to navigate through the flooded bridge.
“The inundated bridge not only poses a risk to the safety of the vehicles attempting to cross it but also jeopardizes the welfare of the individuals inside those vehicles. The presence of water obstructs the passage, making it difficult for drivers to maintain control and navigate safely,” a commuter said.
“The accumulation of water on the bridge may weaken its structural integrity, potentially leading to further endangerment. If preventive measures are not taken promptly, the structural conditions of the bridge could deteriorate,” he said.
“Immediate intervention and assistance from relevant authorities are crucial to tackle this concerning situation. The departments responsible for road maintenance and infrastructure need to be notified promptly, in order to address the issue. It is essential that appropriate measures, such as drainage systems or temporary diversions, be implemented to ensure the smooth flow of traffic,” he added.
