School Edu Dept likely to formulate School Innovation Councils

Srinagar, Aug 30: Following the directives of Ministry of Education (MoE), School Education Department is likely to formulate School Innovation Councils (SICs) to foster the culture of Innovation, Ideation, start-up and entrepreneurship in the institutions.
Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said, “SIC aims at streaming and fostering the culture of Innovation, Ideation, start-up and entrepreneurship in schools.”
DSEK informed all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) that the MoEs Innovation Cell and CBSE have announced the School Innovation Council (SIC) program in the year 2022.
“The initiative will foster the culture of ideation, innovation, entrepreneurship ,creative thinking, design thinking, prototyping out of box thinking by facilitating the training for teachers ,field visits, leadership talks awareness and orientation sessions,” it reads.
DSEK further said that it will also facilitate the boot camps, national level exhibitions, hackathons, skills modules, new courses for students thinking of the school innovation ecosystem with Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) etcetera at Schools.
It also said that the School Innovation Council initiative will bridge the gap in connecting schools with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship enabled ecosystem of the country.
“SIC will provide a platform for the schools, academic industry HEIs, experts, innovators, entrepreneurs etc to come together and work in unison,” DSEK said.
DSEK accordingly requested CEOs to instruct school heads to form SIC and register the school. (KNO)
