Keep Kashmir connected

Many times, the government has clearly stated that drugs are the biggest challenge for the administration, but its resolve and the public support will surely lead the society towards drug free Jammu & Kashmir. The whole Jammu & Kashmir is pinning hope and are expecting some more stringent measures to curb the drug menace here and ensure that no person involved in the drug trafficking goes unpunished. Even the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh observed that the illicit traffic of narcotics and psychotropic substances poses threat to the health and welfare of every citizen in the world and dismissed a plea by a Punjab resident challenging his detention under PIT NDPS. The court noted that the offences committed by the detainee are so interlinked and continues in character and are of such nature that these affect security and health of the nation. Therefore, given the significance of the situation, it is imperative to play a key role at this juncture to make sure that all those who are indulging the youth in drug addiction are taken to the task so that the situation is brought under control amid the rising cases of drug menace in Jammu & Kashmir. Besides police and the government, the local populace as well as the religious clerics should come forward and help the society in eradicating the drug menace so that the precious lives of youngsters are saved well on time. Moreover, the stringent measures against the illicit drug traffickers should continue.
